Le Petit Sommelier, Paris

Facing Montparnasse station, this “nugget of a Parisian bistro”, as L’Express writes, offers the combination of pure traditional Parisian bistro decor (moldings, mirror, benches, wait staff in aprons, beautiful tablecloths and very thick cloth napkins) and a cuisine in tune with the times, fresh and seasonal, which “is worth the detour and the stopover, offering good value for money” according to Gilles Pudlowski.

On the wine side, the young boss, Pierre Vila Palleja, sommelier with experience at the Ritz, Crillon and Lasserre, but also collaborator of La Revue du vin de France, has put together a rich list of more than 750 wines, including a fine selection of big names and young discoveries from the Rhône Valley.

Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss, cuvée KA
“Among the wines of the appellation, I have a lot of affection for the KA vintage from Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss, of which we have several bottles in the 2014 vintage. Made from century-old Carignans, it is a perfectly structured red, both deep – we thus find Marc’s Alsatian touch – and a very Mediterranean style. To serve, to stick with dishes that we have on the menu at the restaurant, on a confit pork belly with pressed trumpets and potatoes, celery and Sansho pepper. »
