Château Les Sources de La Marine

Located in the commune of Bellegarde, the Château Les Sources de la Marine vineyard extends over the gneiss soils characteristic of the rolled pebbles of the Rhône. Today, it is run by two cousins, Alain and Georges Teissonnière, who inherited the estate from their respective fathers in 1986. For nearly twenty years, the estate operated as a cooperative winery, but in 2001, the cousins decided to create their own winery. To do this, they made significant investments to build a modern cellar and a storage shed. The warm and friendly tasting cellar is located at Alain and his wife's home, providing a welcoming setting in which to taste their wines.

Georges focuses on maintaining the vineyard, while Alain takes care of the winemaking and winery management. The two cousins also benefit from the support of their wives, Corinne and Marie, who provide their expertise in accounting and administrative management. The vineyard, initially composed of 40 hectares in one piece, has expanded by 20 additional hectares nearby, where the Syrah, Grenache and Clairette grape varieties thrive on hillside soil. The estate practices sustainable cultivation, including grassing every other row, double lifting for the Syrah, single lifting for the Grenache, and green harvesting if necessary. The harvest is mechanical and late, to preserve the aromas, and takes place at night for the whites and rosés, thus limiting oxidation. Vinification is done plot by plot.
