Granted to winegrowers who are keen to promote and promote good practices in a sustainable and responsible wine industry, Terra Vitis is the only national certification specific to viticulture recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The estate, established not far from the abbey church of Saint-Gilles and acquired in 1887 by Hippolyte Dardé, a Parisian wine merchant, is now run by his descendants. Benoît, who took the reins in 1991, is joined by his son Paul, who arrived in 2015. Together, they produce high-quality Costières-de-Nîmes, recognized in all three colors. The vineyard covers 80 hectares.
