Terre des Chardons in Costières de Nîmes
Terre des Chardons

The Chardon family, originally from Azay-le-Rideau in the Loire Valley, settled in the Gard commune of Bellegarde in the early 1980s. As soon as they arrived, organic farming saw the light of day on fruits and vegetables. Over time, out of passion, out of love and in addition to their activity, they decided to plant their first vines in 1999 and learn how to make their wines.

Today, Terre des Chardons, which is located in the south of the Rhône Valley, covers 9 hectares on the Costières plateau. The estate is at the heart of its organic farm dedicated to vegetable and olive growing. Jérôme Chardon takes great natural care in the cultivation of his vines and the vinification of his Demeter-certified wines since the first harvest in 2002.

The origins of the Chardon family led them to want to vinify wines marked by finesse and freshness with Rhone grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Clairette Blanche.

All the vintages are in the Costières de Nîmes Protected Appellation and Clairette de Bellegarde Protected Appellation.
