Château Beaubois

The vintages

Fanny Molinié Boyer and François Boyer took over the family estate in 2000 and converted it to organic in 2009*. Barely 500 meters from the first ponds of the Camargue, they produce there – he in the vineyard, she in the cellar – wines now sold in 25 countries around the world.

These take advantage of the maritime inlets coming from the Gulf of Lion which give them a saline, even iodized side, giving them this finesse and freshness distinctive of the southern Costières de Nîmes.

Because we are here on a vineyard of great wines, forged in the Middle Ages by the Cistercian monks of the neighboring Abbey of Franquevaux who, on the lookout for the best terroirs, cleared, in the 12th and 13th centuries, the pine and oaks which gave its name to the estate.

This quest for excellence can be found in the five ranges of Château Beaubois, which Fanny presents.

Expression (red, rosé and white)
“These are very floral and fruity wines, with a crisp and delicious mouthfeel. The white goes very well with marinated chicken and a tian of vegetables.”

Élégance (red, rosé and white)
“It’s a vintage that offers complexity. The red, with silky tannins, will go divinely with a rib of beef.”

Confidence (red, white)
“A strong majority of Grenache as a challenge for a cuvée launched in 2005, at a time when we no longer swore only by Syrah. Small number of bottles, hence its name, but the lucky ones will enjoy it with duck aiguillettes or a tagine!”

Harmonie (red)
“A vintage aged for twelve months in oak barrels. Beautiful osmosis between breeding on one side and fruit and freshness on the other. A high-end but elegant and very digestible wine to enjoy with a bull herd.”

Idole (red)
“The very first Costières de Nîmes to bring together five grape varieties: Syrah for the tannic and fruity potential, Grenache Noir for the smooth and delicious side, Mourvèdre for the aromas of leather and spices, Marselan for the spices and cinsault whose frivolity I love so much. Result, a lot of concentration and finesse, the nose covers all the aromatic palettes, the mouth is both suave and full of freshness. Try it with gibelotte-style lamb! “

* In January, Château Beaubois was awarded the National Prize for Agricultural and Fishing Dynamics in the “Sustainable Initiative” category which aims to support agriculture that is particularly respectful of the environment and people.
