Product made from vines from a farm certified as High Environmental Value.
High Environmental Value (HVE) guarantees that the agricultural practices implemented across the entire wineyard preserve ecosystems and limit pressures on the environment (soil, water, biodiversity, etc.)
Granted to winegrowers who are keen to promote and promote good practices in a sustainable and responsible wine industry, Terra Vitis is the only national certification specific to viticulture recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Alexandra and Cyril have taken over the commercial development of Château Saint André. An impressive estate in the Gard, extending over 130 hectares and producing around 200,000 bottles per year. It produces wines in five different appellations, ranging from the famous Costières de Nîmes to the local IGPs.
The terroir is distinguished by its famous rolled pebbles, vestiges of the bed of the Rhône, which store heat and release it at night, thus accelerating the ripening of the grapes. For example, in 2017, the harvest began around August 10, a record!
The estate produces 40% rosé, 40% red and the rest white. It was taken over by Alexandra and Cyril's grandparents in the 1980s. Since then, the uncle and then the father have expanded the estate. Today, Alexandra and Cyril's father continues to supervise the winemaking.
The viticulture practiced is ultra-reasoned, without pesticides, in order to preserve biodiversity as much as possible. Although they are close to organic practices, the estate has not yet chosen to switch to the organic label, due to considerations related to production and the terroir.
