Château Saint-Bénézet

Located in the South of France, between the historic city of Nîmes and the Mediterranean Sea, Château Saint-Bénezet is located in the commune of Saint-Gilles, at the southern end of the Rhône Valley.

Acquired in 1999 by Michel Bosse-Platière and Jean-Pierre Soulairac, professionals in the wine industry, it then consisted of 80 hectares of vines.

Over the years, the operation has considerably developed and modernized thanks to significant improvements, a restructuring program and the acquisition of new properties in the most qualitative terroirs of the region. The vineyards of Silex and Fonteuil in the commune of Gallician, Haut-Broussan and Aveylans in that of Bellegarde as well as Château Bellefontaine, a 66 ha property in one piece located in Franquevaux, were acquired in turn.

Today, all of the Saint-Bénezet Vignobles, managed by Yann Soulairac and Elise Bosse-Platière, extend over more than 200 ha entirely cultivated using “Terra Vitis” sustainable agriculture. The cellar was first completely redone and a 600 m2 extension was carried out.

The cellar was first completely redone and an extension of 600 m2 was carried out. The development has been just as considerable at the cellar level with the extension of the vat room and the acquisition of high-performance winemaking equipment to ensure the optimal quality of our wines.
