Domaine de Donadille

For over half a century, the Domaine de Donadille has been training new generations of winegrowers. Its primary vocation is to serve as an educational support thanks to its 32 hectares of vines in AOP Costières de Nîmes, IGP Coteaux du Pont du Gard, its organic olive grove, its landscaped areas and its agricultural machinery driving area.

The estate also has an experimental vocation in order to propose answers to the new challenges facing the Gard viticulture. Several projects are thus underway in order to reduce the use of phytosanitary treatments, by using herbal teas or grape varieties resistant to pests. In addition, the estate is committed to the fight against the effects of climate change. A collection of grape varieties resistant to heat and lack of water, from the prestigious Italian, Spanish, Portuguese or Greek vineyards, has been planted in order to evaluate their qualitative potential in the Gard terroir.

The entire vineyard is planted on a "Gress" soil characteristic of the Costières de Nîmes.
This vineyard has been undergoing a complete restructuring since 2013 with a 2 ha uprooting/replanting campaign per year.
The grape varieties present on the farm are in red: Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Marselan, Vidoc, Caladoc, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon. In white: Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Colombar, Chardonnay.

In addition, in partnership with the IFV (French Institute of Vine and Wine), experiments are being conducted on current topics. Finally, an experiment on resistant grape varieties is underway.
