Dupret family

Domaine du Vistre

In the Dupret family, wine is a passion that is naturally passed down from generation to generation. “Benoit and Mathieu? Kids, they were always under my feet!”, says Rémy, laughing, the dad, who had the difficult task of rebuilding an estate in the 90s impacted by the construction of a new high speed train line.

But each new generation also knows how to make its contribution. “I learned the job the hard way,” continues Rémy. Benoit and Mathieu were able to study and acquire knowledge that was beneficial to the field.”

A spirit very Costières de Nîmes

Covering 70 hectares of vines in the Vauvert countryside, south of Costières de Nîmes, Domaine du Vistre is a landmark of the appellation. The Dupret family likes to participate in various local events, such as local markets or festivals, as well as collective operations, such as the Vignes Toquées stroll or JeuDiVin evenings.

The favorite cuvée

Rémy admits a slight preference for the “Passion” vintage, a red which he says is the fruit of his love of the profession but also of the Camargue terroir. “It’s a real Costières de Nîmes vintage, the kind of wine we like to drink, in the middle of the Camargue landscapes, as an accompaniment to a good bull stew.”
